As CEO, David drives the business forward on a daily basis. His passion and expertise is reflected through his active engagement and strong relationship with other industry leaders and lenders.
He is often called upon to give advice on lending criteria and help design new products. A colourful figure within the industry, David is renowned for telling it like it is. He is frequently asked for comment by both the national and trade press and is a regular speaker at industry events. David was voted Mortgage Personality of the Year at the Mortgage Strategy Awards 2017.
In January 2007 David launched Keystone Buy to Let Mortgages in a joint venture with the Wilky Group. Keystone loaned c£200m of mortgages before withdrawing from the market in December 2008. The Keystone lending brand was relaunched in 2012 with funding from Aldermore Bank and in 2015 by Paratus AMC.
It continues to go from strength to strength, and is now a specialist buy to let lender.
Hollie has been a long-standing member of the Keystone team and has one of the most important roles to maintain. As Chief Morale Officer she makes daily visits to everyone’s desks and provides them with cuddles. Her favourite thing to do is to take naps and eat treats.
Elise is responsible for the day to day management of the Keystone office, this includes supervising and managing the functionality and overall growth of the business. Elise has over 10 years of experience in the financial services industry, having worked in the Portfolio Restructuring Unit at Commerzbank responsible for investing in and managing UK mortgage portfolios.
As Sales and Marketing Director, Phil is responsible for the business managers, marketing and sales strategy. His extensive experience of buy to let is invaluable when assessing whether deals are a good fit with the Keystone products and criteria. Phil spends much of his time at events speaking to brokers about Keystone's offerings and discussing the buy to let market, so if you haven't yet met him, why not give him a call to arrange a meeting.
Moises supports brokers in the South East and London, helping them find solutions for their customers’ complex finance needs. With a wealth of experience from mainstream and specialist lenders, Moises will be able to assess cases quickly and efficiently to see if Keystone can help. Moises has worked in the Financial Services Industry for over 18 years.

Simon has spent the past 10 years managing dive resorts in Indonesia but before that he spent over 16 years as a mortgage adviser for Savills Private Finance, John Charcol and Lloyds TSB.

He joins us with over 35 years experience within the financial industry and especially the buy to let intermediary mortgage market, his last position was at Aldermore Bank for 9 years.

Phillip manages the Internal Sales team, who are all on hand for when BDM’s ask questions for clarification and resolutions for their customers’ complex buy to let enquiries. In the background Phillip liaises with all internal departments, valuers, and solicitors.
Phillip has worked at Keystone for almost 5 years. Before joining Keystone, Phillip was a residential underwriter at Halifax and prior to that he worked for Kent Reliance as part of their mortgage servicing team.
Mat is an office-based business manager. His main roles are answering the broker hotline, dealing with new broker registrations and deals as well as updating brokers with the status of ongoing cases.
Prior to joining Keystone Mat worked as a commercial manager at Sainsbury's for 12 years. As well as this Mat completed the full CeMAP qualification in November.
Matt works closely with the sales team and the business development managers. His main responsibilities include assisting the BDMs and helping brokers to find solutions for their customers complex buy to let enquiries. Matt joined the team in March 2021 after graduating from Lancaster University where he studied Finance and Economics.
Katie is part of our internal sales team. She joined Keystone in August 2021 and has a level 2 NVQ in customer service. Katie speaks to brokers on a day-to-day basis, answering all their queries and running through different kinds of cases. She works closely with the BDM’s and marketing team in the business.
Ellie works closely with the sales team and the business development managers. Her main responsibilities include assisting the BDMs and helping brokers to find solutions for their customers complex buy to let enquiries. Ellie joined the sales team in July 2017 after previously working at our sister company Mortgages For Business as a case manager. She returned from maternity leave in 2019 joining the pre-offer team gaining knowledge into the processing side of the business. She shortly after returned to the Sales team after her second child in 2021.
Working closely with the business development managers Penelope is responsible for implementing and executing the overall marketing strategy as well as maintaining the Keystone Property branding. She joined Keystone in January 2019 and brings with her over 7 years of marketing experience.
Working closely with the Head of Marketing and the Business Development Managers, Kirstie is responsible for helping to maintain the Keystone branding. Prior to Keystone, Kirstie worked in various digital agencies within a 7 year marketing career.
Faye works closely with her peers in Marketing and the Keystone's Business Development Managers. Faye is responsible for managing and executing all face-to-face events and awards evenings from the initial booking through to the final event.
Faye joined Keystone in September 2021 and brings experience from the PR and financial industry.
Daniela supports Keystone's employees and managers across the business. Daniela is CIPD qualified and joined us from London bringing her knowledge and experience from management consultancy and private banking.
With over 30 years’ experience in the mortgage industry Mike oversees our growing team of underwriters. He is responsible for making sure that all cases are analysed, assessed and written efficiently by the team
Ashley has over 10-years’ experience in mortgages.
As Head of Underwriting, it is Ashley’s responsibility to manage the growing Underwriting team and ensure the company’s high standards of analysing and assessing cases is maintained.
Prior to joining Keystone in 2016, he worked for RBS, Charles Cameron, and Kent Reliance. Since then, he has been heavily involved in shaping the company’s underwriting process and development of the team.
Louise's responsibility within the underwriting team is to determine whether the risks involved in offering the mortgage to a borrower are acceptable or not. Louise was a Business Development Manager in the Midlands area for a year prior to moving across to Underwriting. She joined Keystone with over 15 years of financial services experience, most recently having worked at Amicus, where she served for over two years, and Aldermore, for nearly a decade.
Anne joins us from Santander where she worked as a Mortgage Advisor and Mortgage Underwriter for over 30 years. Anne works alongside Mike Freeman and Ashley Boorman analysing the cases submitted to Keystone. It is her responsibility to determine whether the risks involved in offering the mortgage to a borrower are acceptable or not.
Sally works together with the underwriting team, reporting to Mike Freeman, analysing the buy to let cases that are submitted to Keystone. The team have culpability to establish whether the risks involved in offering the mortgage to a borrower are appropriate or not.
Sally joined us from a central Government role dealing with the financial aspects and due diligence.
James works with the underwriting team analysing buy to let cases submitted to Keystone. The underwriting team are responsible for establishing whether the risk involved in offering the mortgage to a borrower are appropriate or not. James joined the team in December 2020, with 4 years mortgage industry experience at One Savings Bank as Completions Consultant as well as Underwriter. James also has experience working with BTL, Residential and Shared Ownership mortgage applications.
Mark joined Keystone in February 2021. He brings with him over 10 years experience in banking, with roles including Mortgage Underwriting and Mortgage Advice. Before joining Keystone, Mark worked for a London based private bank for 4 years in the Specialist Mortgage team. Mark works with the underwriting team analysing buy to let cases that are submitted to Keystone. The team are responsible for establishing whether the risk involved in offering the mortgage to a borrower are appropriate or not.
Beckie joins the underwriting team having been a senior case manager at Keystone where she oversaw the process of pre-offer cases ensuring they progressed from application to offer in smooth and timely fashion. Her new role sees her assisting the underwriting team in progressing applications through to the offer stage.
Prior to joining Keystone, Beckie worked at brokerage firm Mortgages for Business as a senior case manager that processed cases from offer to completion. Before this she worked in a family run restaurant as a shift manager.
Sam is responsible for managing our Underwriting Support team, created both to assist our team of Underwriters and to develop the team’s knowledge and experience in underwriting processes.
Having originally joined Keystone in 2019 as a Senior Underwriter, he began his current role in 2021, developing the training and mandating processes and then recruiting for the newly formed team.
Sam has over ten years’ experience in finance, having previously worked in a variety of roles for both mainstream and specialist lenders.
Elliot has recently joined the underwriting team having been a senior case manager on the post offer team at Keystone where he worked processing mortgage applications through to completion. His new role involves assisting the underwriting team reviewing applications to progress them through to the offer stage.
Previous to this Elliot worked for Timpson’s the cobblers/key cutters for 8 years in a management role.
Nicole joined Keystone in 2019, initially as a Case Manager then as a Senior Case Manager, working on processing applications through to offer. In May 2021, Nicole joined the Underwriting Team as Underwriting Support and is responsible for assisting underwriters in assessing and processing mortgage applications.
Chloe joined the Underwriting Support team in February 2022. Her role involves assisting the Underwriting team by reviewing applications to progress them through to the offer stage.
Prior to joining Keystone, Chloe worked within financial services for three years as an Underwriter in both motor finance and personal loans sectors.
Shaunnie joins the Underwriting Support team with 3 years of experience from previous working in underwriting for the motor finance and person loan sectors. Prior to that Shaunnie has managed key accounts within telecommunications.
Lauren joined the Underwriting Support team in February 2022. Prior to joining Keystone Lauren worked within the Legal Indemnity sector for 3 years.
Caroline is responsible for implementing and maintaining organizational processes for the business. She works closely with each department to help increase efficiency and improve the customer journey. Caroline has over 8 years of experience in the financial services environment, managing processes for insolvent portfolios from pre purchase to completion.
Shernette joined the team in March 2020 and is currently the Operations Manager. She is an experienced Business Analyst and certified Trainer. Who is qualified in Project Management with experience in designing business strategies, and coaching individuals to succeed. Skilled in building cross-functional teams, whilst demonstrating exceptional communication skills proven in her effective presentations, and making critical decisions during challenges. Adaptable and a transformational leader with the ability to work independently. Strong Business acumen to develop opportunities that further establish organisational goals.
Alvin is a member of the British Computer Society - The Chartered Institute for IT certified for Business Analysis and Software Testing and specialises in creating new business analysis functions, as well as introducing best-practice analysis tools and techniques into the business. She is responsible for analysing and implementing new technology to improve business processes and systems.
Neil joined the Operations team in January 2021 as a Business Analyst. He brings with him a wealth of experience across the Financial Sector. As a Business Analyst, he will look at both processes and systems to look at improvements across the board and add synergies between the various teams to move the business forward in a streamlined and cohesive manner.
Georgia joined Keystone in January 2020. She reports to the Operations Manager and her main roles include User Acceptance Testing of system changes via creation of test plans, reporting defects and process mapping. Georgia also focuses on the quality delivery of changes through post implementation reviews.
Georgia has keen interpersonal skills and a strong customer service background in the insurance industry.
Blessing joined Keystone Property Finance in January 2021 as a testing assistant, reporting to the head of Operations. Her main roles include supporting the implementation of system changes via creation of test plans, reporting defects and process mapping. Blessing is a BSc (hons) Forensic Science and Investigations graduate, and has experience in data entry, finance and administration.
Toni reports to the head of Operations, her main roles include supporting the implementation of system changes via creation of test plans, reporting defects and process mapping. Toni has a background in customer service and home insurance.
Michelle joins the team from Clydesdale and Yorkshire Bank having worked in banking her whole career. Michelle brings a wide range of credit, treasury, risk and compliance knowledge from working in both large and small banks in the city in various different roles.
Michelle reports to the Managing Director, Elise Coole, and her responsibilities are ensuring that significant emerging financial, operational and reputational risks are identified at an early stage. Additionally, she will work to build risk and control awareness across the whole business helping the senior management team embed robust risk management.
Elizabeth’s career has crossed several Financial Service Industry organisations including a Life & Pensions office, an IFA, regulated complaints and Know your Customer reviews. She reports into the Head of Risk and works closely with her to identify and mitigate risk issues to ensure Keystone maintains a robust risk management framework.
Robert joined Keystone in 2021 as Junior Risk Officer. He reports to the head of risk, Michelle Relyea, and works closely with the risk department to help negate any risk to the business. He graduated with a degree in Law in 2015, and started working at an IFA specialising in pensions and investments in the regulatory compliance department. He has also worked for CLS Group Services, providing compliance services to two FCA regulated companies.
Mark has worked in the financial industry for 20 years, spending 10 of those as Senior Complaint Handler with Lloyds Banking Group. He also has experience in training and mentoring and Customer Due Diligence. Before joining Keystone Mark worked on a project with Deloitte dealing with COVID pandemic related specialised financial difficulties. He now reports into the Head of Risk and works closely with the risk department to identify and mitigate risk issues to ensure Keystone maintains a robust risk management framework.
Kloé joined the Keystone Risk team in February 2021 as a Junior Fraud Officer, she reports to the Head of Risk, Michelle Relyea. As of January 2022 Kloés' job title changed to Risk Officer. Before joining Keystone, Kloé worked in the travel insurance industry and has experience in cost containment, auditing complex cases, and reporting fraudulent activity.
Theresa joined the Risk team in March 2022, and reports into Senior Risk Manager, Elizabeth, and Theresa has soon learnt that no two days are the same, there is always something new to look into!
Previously, she worked in the fresh produce industry for over 30 years, the last 10 being as the Label Room manager.
Nigel joined the team in Feb 2021 as a Compliance Officer reporting to the Head of Risk. He has worked for Natwest / RBS Group for over 25 years in branch, lending centre, and international banking centre environments, most recently in customer services and SWIFT payment investigations and processing. For the last 5 years, he has worked at Blue Motor Finance as a Compliance and Quality Control Officer and brings experience in compliance, fraud investigation, data protection and quality control.
Margaret joined the Keystone risk team from Co-Operative Bank with over 30 years experience as a Compliance Analyst. She has a background of Anti Money laundering and complaints handling, along with award winning customer service skills. Margaret brings with her a range of skills including the review of internal controls, auditing, preparing reports and writing recommendations.
Sharon has 25 years previous experience in the Civil Service which included HM Revenue & Customs, HM Foreign & Commonwealth Office, and the National Crime Agency. Her roles were quite varied from Programme Management to Office Management. All roles were heavily dependent on audit trails, and these skills can be implemented into the compliance team at Keystone.
Alison is responsible for managing the pre-offer team. Alison will ensure that all applications are processed through to offer by her team in a friendly and efficient manner.
Before joining Keystone Property Finance Alison worked for Lloyds Banking Group as a Team Leader for various departments with a total of 7 years of experience.
Kelly is responsible for handling submitted cases, processing them through to completion. Kelly will ensure all cases are dealt with in a professional and efficient manner, answering any questions brokers or their clients may have along the way. Kelly is a very knowledgeable case manager with over 10 years experience working in the industry. Kelly spent five years working as a mortgage underwriter for the Halifax and just over five years working within a case management team at a local brokerage.
Ben supports the pre-offer team and is responsible for processing applications through to offer. He will deal with all cases in a professional and efficient manner, answering any questions brokers or their clients may have along the way.
Prior to Keystone Property Finance, Ben worked in the savings team of a small, ethical bank.
Lucy is responsible for processing full mortgage applications through to offer efficiently.
Prior to Keystone Lucy has worked within the motoring industry for 7 years working in a couple of different roles during this time.
Amber is responsible for processing full mortgage applications through to offer as efficiently as possible. She works within the pre-offer team to ensure applications are processed in a timely and professional manner. Amber joins the team after working within an IFA specialising in pensions for just over 2 years, where she analysed benefits held in pension plans.
Karen is responsible for processing full mortgage applications through to offer efficiently. She will be working within the pre-offer team to ensure applications are processed in a timely and professional manner.
Prior to Keystone Property Finance, Karen worked as the Office Manager for a small, local family run business and prior to that was a Primary School Teacher for 5 years. She has over 20 years administration experience and is keen to develop her career in the mortgage industry. She hopes to increase her knowledge and skills within the industry by completing CeMap during her time at Keystone.
Before joining Keystone, Bronte worked in admin for 4 years and brings with her an NVQ in Business Administrations Level's 2 and 3. She joined Keystone in February 2021 as a Case Manager. Bronte is responsible for processing full mortgage applications through to offer as efficiently as possible.
Russel works within the pre-offer team to ensure applications are processed in a timely and professional manner through to offer.
Previous to working at Keystone Russel worked at the Royal Bank of Scotland for two years as a cash processor alongside studying for a degree in Business Studies at Canterbury Christ Church University.
He is fully CeMap qualified and wishes to get a better understanding of the buy to let mortgage process.
Emma works within the pre-offer team to ensure applications are processed in a timely and professional manner through to offer.
Prior to joining Keystone Emma worked for an Events company, managing client accounts and ensuring all organisers expectations are met for their event spaces as well as great customer service for all of their exhibitors.
Phoebe joined Keystone in January 2022 and works within the pre-offer team to ensure applications are processed in a timely and efficient way through to offer.
Prior to Keystone Phoebe graduated with a Business Management degree and then worked in property management.
Emma is responsible for processing full mortgage applications through to offer efficiently. She works within the pre-offer team to ensure applications are processed in a timely and professional manner.
Emma previously worked at a broker as Customer Service Expert for 6 years and is looking forward to increasing her knowledge within the mortgage industry.
As a senior case manager, Morgan is responsible for overseeing submitted cases and the processing them through to completion. She ensures all cases are dealt with in a professional manner, answering questions from brokers and their clients. Prior to joining Keystone Morgan worked as a business administrator for a local printers.
Charlotte joined the Keystone team in February 2021 as a Case Manager. Before joining Keystone, Charlotte worked as a Legal Secretary in Residential Conveyancing. Her main responsibility as a Case Manager is processing full mortgage offers through to completion efficiently.
Gary is responsible for processing full mortgage offers through to completion as efficiently as possible. Prior to Keystone Gary worked for a health care regulator as a supervisor for the Admin Team for 12 years, he also worked for Barclays Bank for nearly 20 years.
Jacqui is responsible for processing full mortgage offers through to completion efficiently. Prior to Keystone Property Finance, Jacqui worked at CLS/IConvey as a Conveyancing Sales Executive where she was responsible for converting quotes and instructing to Solicitors. Jacqui also worked for a national charity supporting unemployed disabled and disadvantaged people into employment.
Niki joined Keystone in October 2021 and is responsible for processing full mortgage offers through to completion efficiently. Niki has worked in the Finance Industry for 20 years. Prior to joining Keystone, Niki worked for One Savings Bank for 9 years, with 7 of those years as a Senior Completions Consultant responsible for releasing mortgage funds, training and processing complex cases. Niki also has experience working with BTL, Residential and Shared Ownership Completions.
Ryan works on the post offer team as a Case Manager. His main responsibilities are to process full mortgage offers through to completion, corresponding with brokers and solicitors.
Ryan has worked in the finance sector for 7 years starting at One Savings Bank (Kent Reliance) working in branch and eventually moving to head office in the Savings & Investments team dealing with back-office case management as well as the bereavement cases and POA. After 5 years in banking, he moved into the insurance sector dealing with HNW home insurance before joining Keystone in January 2022.
Robert joined us in February 2021 as a Case Manager. He is responsible for processing full mortgage offers through to completion efficiently.
Hannah is responsible for processing full mortgage applications through to completion as efficiently as possible. Prior to joining Keystone Hannah worked at the Bank of America in the account closures department.
With over 12 years’ experience in Financial Services, Connor is responsible for the day to day management of our growing Servicing Team. He ensures the team deliver high standards of service to our customers.
Prior to joining Keystone in 2021, he worked for Shawbrook Bank, Metro Bank and Lloyds Banking Group where he has successfully built and led large successful teams.
Callum is part of the Servicing Team who ensure that our borrowers receive a level of service that fully meets their needs and exceeds their expectations. He joins Keystone after gaining a 2:1 degree from the University of Winchester.
Samantha is part of the Servicing Team who ensure that our borrowers receive a level of service that fully meets their needs and exceeds their expectations. She has worked within the financial services industry for several years, undertaking numerous customers facing roles.
Leia joined the team in February 2021 as a Case Manager. She is responsible for processing full mortgage applications through to completion as efficiently as possible. In February 2022 Leia was promoted to Product Switch Specialist.
Lauren joined our Servicing Team in February 2022. She has 3.5 years experience in Customer Services and prides herself on her communication skills and her ability to problem solve. Lauren has a BSc (Hons) in Psychology and worked as a complaints handler within the Water industry before joining Keystone
Prior to Keystone Jake has a scientific background where he obtained his PhD in Systems Biology. He worked on building computational models of the liver to understand fatty liver disease.
Jake's role within Keystone is gathering data corresponding to all areas of the business. This data is then computationally analysed to reveal patterns, trends and associations, which can be used to help understand and better business performance.
Daniel works within the Operations department as a Data Analyst, primarily reporting to the Head of Data Analytics, and is responsible for data cleansing, as well as extracting information & insight from the data gathered for the purposes of streamlining various processes within the business.
He initially joined the team as a Junior Fraud Analyst after graduating from the Open University with a First-Class Honours in BSc Mathematics.
Mark is responsible for further development of software and systems both in the front and back office at Keystone.
He has developed numerous tools and services including our bespoke broker portal MyKeystone and led the mortgage application integration project with Twenty7Tech.
Mark graduated as a Systems Engineer and subsequently moved into the software industry. He worked his way up to become an Enterprise Resource Planning Systems Consultant responsible for scoping software requirements for companies ranging from toy manufacturers to cutlery distributors.
Emma is responsible for managing the IT Operations team. Ensuring that Keystone keeps on top of SLA’s and she also supports with queries, making sure they are responded to quickly and efficiently.
Emma is currently studying at The Open University, for a degree in Information Technology.
Sabrina joined Keystone just after graduating from university with a first-class Physics degree. She is interested in expanding her tech knowledge and is great at problem-solving! As an IT support analyst Sabrina is always on hand to provide good quality customer service and apply her problem-solving skills to each task she undertakes.
David supports the IT department with software development and changes to infrastructure as well as providing support to the keystone team and brokers – If it’s got a plug, it’s an IT problem. Prior to joining Mortgages for Business David worked as an interim IT management consultant for CapGemini Consulting. During his time at CapGemini, David worked closely with the development team to roll-out a new operating system for over 900 employees.
Coming from an 3 year education in engineering and a further yearlong apprenticeship in business, Stephen joins us as our first IT apprentice. He is looking to develop his knowledge further in the financial industry and the technological world.
Previously working as the Head of Case Management overseeing procedures, Kayleigh is now responsible for implementation of improvements within the Keystone Origination System and MyKeystone.
As an IT Business Analyst, Tom works to convert business requirements into technical design documents and project plans which are used in development.
Prior to Keystone, Tom worked for Cripps LLP as a Business Analyst where his role was understanding the business needs and working on big projects.
As an IT Business Analyst Francis transforms business change into system functionality. He investigates the system capabilities and ensures that the change requested is compatible and the developers can implement the required change.
Prior to Keystone, Francis worked as an accountant where he oversaw monthly reports and analysis for Thomson Reuters. During his time there he contributed towards changes which improved the working process and helped recover millions in bad debt.
As an IT Test Analyst Lewis support’s IT with the changes that our developers make when they build something new. Lewis investigates it and makes sure it’s good to go before it becomes part of the live system. Before joining Keystone, Lewis had worked mostly in customer services and complaints roles, both internal and external of the financial services. During his time at Vanquis Lewis had worked for a total of 6 different departments in which one of these was looking into Vanquis’s updates and giving crucial feedback on how to improve the way they worked.
As an IT Test Analyst, Connor’s objective is to determine whether new system enhancements and changes are functioning correctly and operate as intended, with the intention of providing software that accommodates the user’s needs and requirements to a premium standard.
Robin joins Keystone as a software developer, he is responsible for the development and enhancements to the internal and external MyKeystone Systems.
Before Keystone he worked as a senior software developer for 17 years at Mortgage Brain, Robin developed their in-house CRM system.
